Job had it just as good

Recent things have been happening in my life that have really made me question things. The things meaning religion and where God fits into it. I have become a born-again believer by realizing that I am a sinner and God is the ultimate judge and even though he is a loving God He is also a very just God and I was sentenced to hell. I have since acknowledged that Jesus paid for my sins on the cross thus saving me. I have been attending an independant baptist church for quite awhile mainly because I believe that they teach right from the Bible. I get a shudder when I hear a pastor or preacher say "well, I think..." To me it's what God thinks that is important.

Enough of the backstory, I do hope you are with me. Anyhoo, as I have said before recent events have made me question what is truly behind some people in these churches. I heard a sermon about wolves and how dangerous they are. There is something to be said about a wolf in sheeps clothing. I feel as if I have been attending churches filled with quite a number of wolves. But again, that is how I FEEL.

The hard part I am having is going with what I KNOW not FEEL. So, you ask, what do you know? I know that God has specially designed this particular time in my life and it is a type of test. One I just may be failing miserably at. If that is the case, I really do NOT want a do-over. I also know I am spending too much time looking at everyone else and how they are acting/reacting to this circumstance. Some are encouraging while unfortunately most are not. That is what makes me question these people and their hearts. I have a very scant few who are supporting me and listening to my rants and anger. THEY are the ones that hold true to the definition of friendship. The others are.........human.

I don't know, I was thinking about the book of Job and I need to study it. He had everything taken away from him and as of late that is how I feel. Unfortuantely I am acting like his wife by thinking I should curse God and die. I can't do that......completely. There is still the Holy Spirit living in me that is putting up a good battle with myself and it is indeed a painful one.

So, back and forth it will go, how long, I don't know.

Funny how things read.......

Have ya ever read something, and yes, you have read it before, several times actually and suddenly for some odd reason it reads completely different then when you read it the umpteenth time? It happened to me today. I was reading a chapter in the book of Luke. Chapter 5 to be exact and it was the story of the lame man that was dropped down from the ceiling to get healed. Now I have heard or read that story quite a few times but this time I caught something in it. Luke 5:26 "And they were all amazed, and and they glorified God and were filled with fear saying we have seen strange things today.

Place yourself there for a moment........I guess watching a lame man being lowered from the ceiling and then being healed would constitute as strange. I know I have never seen that and I don't think it happens very often as of late.

To move on to generalities.......seeing strange things today. I must confess, I did not. I work in an office and hide in a cubicle. I was a bit limited but also I was not looking for strange things. I was self-absorbed on a little pity party about being tired and trying to make that as my excuse for being cranky. How many people are like that? How often do we miss the strange things?

Take time to see...I mean really observe life around you. I think you may be surprised at all the strange things happening around you.

Poetry

I have found that I can not really type out poetry. Well, awhile ago, whilst I was still young I once....yes, that was once, was able to let go and type out a Edger Allen Poe type of sonnet. I wish I still had in writing but alas, i do not.

My best friend Patty on the other hand can write poetry and it is beautiful. It makes one stop and think. Well, it does that to me at least.

Enjoy a sample:

"I look around and I do see the wonderous gifts He has given to me. Blast my tender heart for weeping at the Truth and the friendship He has given to us. I wipe away tears and go on with a happy heart and smile to myself. I'm happy with my part."

LOTS of thoughts on this one, but sadly no time to write them down.

Hello World!

This is a new adventure for me. I am thinking at this point it will be more for me to set my thoughts down. I will be surprised if anyone bothers to read it. Oh well........we shall see.
